Insta Inspo: Jessica at @thewoodlandwife
We’ve left the city in search of some calm, as we catch up with Jessica Cresswell aka The Woodland Wife
Mother Jessica swapped life as a graphic designer in the city for the Kent countryside, where she now lives with her husband and three year old daughter. Her blog, The Woodland Wife, is a hub of eco parenting ideas, and her inspirational Instagram account boasts everything from cool crafts to snapshots of life from her rural home.
What do you love most about Instagram?
The community! It’s a wonderful place to reach out and be inspired. I have formed bonds with some lovely people, some even turning from ‘followers’ into friends.
What’s the secret to a great Insta photo?
I think the key is to not over-think it and just share an honest account of a moment, while trying to remain consistent in your photo ‘style’.
Who are your inspirations?
There are so many accounts I enjoy. A tiny taster of the accounts I love visiting include photographer @siobhanwatts, artist @rebecca.kathryn, @littlemaldod, @thegelfis, @allthatisshe, @lapinblu and @me_and_orla.
You’re an advocate for ethical living; which brands are you coveting right now?
This is a topic that I am hugely passionate about, not just for myself, but my daughter too. Children’s brands we absolutely adore right now include Nellie Quats and Little Cotton Clothes, while the beauty brand I couldn’t be without is Green People; I use its AgeDefy+ range, as well as its children’s products on my daughter. The Soothing Baby Salve is great for those little emergencies that often crop up while on the go, but I also use it on myself!
