Insta Inspo: Madelon at @madebylon
This month we’re following Dutch photographer, blogger and mother of three, Madelon
When it comes to capturing those everyday moments you always think you’ll remember – but often don’t – well, Madelon seems to have nailed it. Her images are not only beautiful, but there’s something about them that’s also very honest, and no doubt strikes a cord with her 59,000 followers. Here, we take a sneak peak into her life behind the lens…
Almost 60k follow your life through Instagram, what do you love most about this platform?
I made some real friends from all over the world. It inspires me. It teaches me. It makes the world so much smaller! And when I moved to LA, it kept me from feeling lonely.
Is there a secret to the perfect Instagram photo?
There isn’t. There are so many different kinds of Instagrammers, just share what you want to share.
Who are your inspirations?
I have so many, but on Instagram I love following people (mostly other mothers) who document real life in a pretty way, including, of course, @viebonacci. I also follow @thestorkandthebeanstalk, @thejnr, @constanzeb_, @virginiejolie, @cissywears and @lovelyfrancesca.
You have a blog, The Door in the Wall, which you write with fellow mum, Vie. How did it come about?
Vie and I met through Instagram and we hit it off immediately. We would chat a lot over WhatsApp, especially after I moved to LA. One day we spoke about how we wanted to start a blog and because we are both quite impulsive, The Door in the Wall was born just four weeks later!
