The luxury Spanish childrenswear label has teamed up with ethical brand Muzungu Sisters for an adorable artisan collection

We’ve long been fans of La Coqueta’s stylish pieces for boys, girls and babies. As the brainchild of mother-of-five Celia Muñoz, who started her business to support local design and craftsmanship, the gorgeous detailing on every piece is handmade using centuries-old techniques in Spain. And now, the brand has teamed up with ready-to-wear womenswear label Muzungu Sisters to launch a very special capsule collection of kidswear.

The Muzungu Sisters – a brand known for its colourful hand stitching, bright pom-poms, delicate button embroidery and ornamental fastenings – has previously collaborated with everyone from Missoni to Olympia Le Tan, but this is the pair’s first foray into childrenswear. Much like Celia, the friends behind the brand, Dana Alikhani and Tatiana Santo Domingo, aim to put the spotlight on rare artistry found in small communities to stimulate local economies and contribute to their growth.

“Tatiana and Dana have been customers of La Coqueta for a long time – and I am a huge fan of their collections,” says Celia. “We all share a strong passion for travel, style and craftsmanship, this collaboration is a dream come true – it’s been amazing to see how their signature designs have been translated into my childrenswear and we have all loved every minute of the creative process.”
