The brand new range of kids’ clothing, accessories and soft ‘sleep buddies’ is the stuff of childhood dreams

When mother of two Jo Tutchener-Sharp was admitted to hospital earlier this year for life-threatening surgery after suffering a brain haemorrhage, being separated from her young boys for so long sparked an idea that would completely turn her life around. While in recovery, the former beauty executive came up with the idea of the Superhero Sleep Buddy – two soft cushions in the shape of superhero characters (a bunny and a dinosaur) – which, while looking super cute, are “bursting with special superpowers” to watch over little ones at night. “Kids love superheroes, they believe they can protect them, so I created these friendly-looking superhero cushions to sit on their bed at night,” she says.

Even better, for every Superhero Sleep Buddy sold, Jo has vowed to donate another to a vulnerable child – be it someone who has lost a parent, one whose parent is seriously ill or a child who’s in hospital themselves. In fact, the label is currently working with a London hospital to gift those in intensive care, as well as with the charities Grief Encounter and Don’t Forget The Kids, who work with children who have either lost parents or have parents struggling with cancer.

And what started with two soft toys has led to a whole range of adorable unisex clothing, including jersey cotton tees, sweaters and leggings, plus a selection of bags. The designs feature a range of bold prints and cute superhero motifs and slogans, and each item even has its own ‘superhero button’ embroidered on the sleeve which little ones can press when they feel they need that extra confidence boost. The relaxed-fit styles are perfect for layering up this winter, while the useful ‘swag’ bags make great compact changing bags for mamas. Oh, and did we mention the sweaters come in a range of adult sizes, too? We’ll take one in each print, please…

Available for ages one to six years, t-shirts start at £26. Available to buy at Liberty London and online at scampanddude.com
