The best places to catch Wimbledon fever this summer

    main

Wondering where to head to catch all the action? These London hotspots are perfect for the whole family

    Whiskey-Pimms

Mac & Wild’s Andy Murray Fan Zone, Devonshire Square
London’s favourite Scottish restaurant will be turning its outdoor terrace in Devonshire Square into an Andy Murray Fan Zone – taking city-dwellers on a trip to Centre Court without having to set foot out of the Square Mile. The undercover terrace will be dressed head to toe in Wimbledon attire (think grass courts, Murray masks and tennis balls galore) in support of the Scot, and between 3 to 15 July, will be showing every major game in the championships on a 50-inch TV. The restaurant will also be serving up a dedicated Wimbledon-themed menu, featuring jugs of Highland Summer Cup (or whisky Pimm’s to you and I), Scottish strawberries and cream, venison scotch eggs served on ‘grass courts’ and – back by popular demand – the Murray Mound burger.
    Where? 9A Devonshire Square, London EC2M 4YM
    When? Until Saturday 15 July

Big Screen on the Green, Fulham
Big Screen on the Green will be serving up screenings of Wimbledon’s semi-finals and finals on supersized LED screens, as you enjoy sundowners, live acoustic music and world-class food stalls. There is plenty going on to keep the kids entertained, too, with an elegant picnic area, a family fun zone with activities organised by Sharky & George and Big Fish Little Fish, as well as pop-up shopping experiences.

    Bluebird

    The Forecourt at Bluebird, Chelsea
For the duration of the two-week championship, Bluebird will be serving up a special Wimbledon-inspired food and cocktail menu alfresco. As Federer and Murray take to the big screen, guests can dine outside in the courtyard on Puglian burrata served with Datterini tomatoes, Aberdeen Angus beef with bone marrow bread crumbs and béarnaise sauce, as well as Bluebird’s Eton Mess, made with English strawberries, raspberry coulis and whipped Jersey cream. On selected dates, you can also indulge in a special Wimbledon afternoon tea, featuring the exclusive nitrogen ‘Bluebirdies & Cream’ ice cream. Now, if that doesn’t say summer, we don’t know what does…
