Explore the capital as a family with Thistle Hotels’ new Be Closer tours

Sometimes it’s nice to let the kids take charge, which is why families will love these thrilling new activities from Thistle Hotels
Fancy letting your little ones lead the way for a change? Thistle Hotels and Blue Badge Tours have teamed up to create three exciting maps of Central London, which encourage kids to take charge as they explore, taste and discover different parts of the capital.
Guests staying at the seven central London Thistle Hotels throughout the summer will also receive access to the interactive London Covered map, where they’ll venture through vibrant Soho, historic Farringdon, culinary Chinatown and maritime Greenwich.
Highlights on the first tour – Be Closer to the Action – include the Emirates Highline, a trip through The Thames Tunnel, a stroll through Greenwich Park, a ride on a driverless DLR train and a journey aboard the Thames Clipper through to the London Eye.

On the Be Closer to London’s Hidden History map, families can brush up on their Roman and British knowledge as they meander through the capital’s ancient streets, explore a buried Roman amphitheatre and discover a site of grisly executions.
And for hungry tums, there’s also the Be Closer to Delicious Delights activity, where adults and children of all ages can delve deep into the city’s incredible food scene. Start with some food art at the National Gallery, before nibbling on London’s best cheeses at Neal’s Yard and sampling French fancies in Soho.
“The three tours have been carefully curated to help families get under the skin of the great city of London,” says Eve Milner, Blue Badge Tourist guide. “It brings them closer to the action, the culture and the food hotspots by giving local insight into some of the city’s hidden gems!”
